ArcGIS location services
ArcGIS location services consist of two types of services that you can use to build applications: 1) ready-to-use location services, and 2) data services. Each service has a REST API that client APIs can use to access service functionality.
Location services are ready-to-use services that provide basemap layer, geocoding, routing, spatial, demographics, and other types of location-based functionality. Learn about the capabilities of each service below or how to use the services in the guide chapters.
Basemap layer service
Access streets, satellite, and other basemap styles for maps and scenes.
Search for addresses, businesses, and places around the world.
Get turn-by-turn directions and solve advanced routing problems.
Find facts and demographic information about a location or area.
Spatial analysis service
Process spatial datasets to discover relationships and patterns.
Create, compare, and modify geographic shapes.
Generate elevation profiles and viewsheds.
Trace water flow and generate watersheds.
Offline packaging service
Create and manage preplanned map areas for generating offline maps.
Data services are services that host, manage, and provide access to your data. These services are created when you use data management tools to import, create, or publish data. Learn about the capabilities of each service below or how to host your data in Data hosting.
Add, update, delete, and query feature data.
Vector tile service
Store and access vector tile data.
Image tile service
Store and access image tile data.
