The Compass widget indicates where north is in relation to the current view rotation or camera heading. Clicking the compass rotates the view to face north (heading = 0). This widget is added to a SceneView by default.

Compass for Web Mercator and WGS84 Compass for other spatial references

You can use the view's DefaultUI to add the compass widget to a 2D application via the ui property on the view. See the sample below.

The ID or node representing the DOM element containing the widget. This property can only be set once.

When true, this property indicates whether the widget has been destroyed.

The unique ID assigned to the widget when the widget is created. If not set by the developer, it will default to the container ID, or if that is not present then it will be automatically generated.
