Length and area (online)

Computes the length and area of a polygon or polyline. Draw a polyline or polygon via left-clicks of the mouse, and calculates the total length and area of the geometry. Right-click on the map to start over. The length and area of the geometry are calculated using the static method GeometryEngine::geodesicLength() and GeometryEngine::geodesicArea(). Note that the output is in miles, which differs from the units used by the map itself. This is possible because output units is an input parameter to the methods. Also note that when drawing the geometry, planar line interpolation is used, shown in red. However, the computation is performed on geodesic geometry with the selected vertices. The geodesic line interpolation is shown in green.
