Description
The reindex operation generates or updates the indexes for content, such as the users, groups, and items stored in the database store. You are required to use this operation to update indexes when upgrading from earlier version of Portal for ArcGIS.
Caution:
It's recommended to perform the reindex operation during system maintenance or downtime, as the operation will take some time to finish. During this time, portal content and search operations will be unavailable and the index service may not respond correctly to index queries.
