The ArcGIS Map Actor is a high-level, drag and drop object that can be placed into a level to procedurally generate most requirements for a functional ArcGIS world. The ArcGIS Map Actor attaches an ArcGIS Map Component and an ArcGIS Renderer Component to itself, and automatically creates an ArcGIS Map View Actor.
The Map Actor can be found here:
ArcGISMapsSDK C++ Classes\ArcGISMapsSDK\Public\ArcGISMapsSDK\Actors
You can alternatively use the Place Actors panel to search for and drop the ArcGIS Map Actor into your level. To open the Place Actors panel, click the Window item in the Menu Bar, then select Place Actors, or click on the Create shortcut button in Main Toolbar, then select Place Actors Panel:
Simply drag and drop the ArcGIS Map Actor into an empty level to generate most of the necessary components. The ArcGIS Map Actor attaches an ArcGIS Map component and an ArcGIS Renderer component to itself, and automatically creates an ArcGIS Map View Actor.
To complete the setup, add an ArcGIS Pawn, a Directional Light, and a Sky Atmosphere Actor. For a basic lighting setup, view the tutorials under the set up the sky and the light section. You are free to use your own lighting setup, or you can copy the lighting setup from any sample level in the Samples folder.
Use the Modes Panel UI to select a basemap, then set both the Origin position on the ArcGIS Map View Actor and the ArcGIS Location Component attached to the ArcGIS Pawn.
