This page lists system requirements for the 300.0 release of ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET, which contains APIs to develop apps for Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows UI Library (WinUI), and .NET MAUI. Each API has specific system requirements for your development machine as well as for the machines and devices to which you deploy your app. The framework, platform, or operating system version and updates listed below are supported as long as it is also currently supported by its provider for general or public use.

Development requirements

Develop apps with ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET on Windows using Visual Studio to create WPF, WinUI, and .NET MAUI apps. On macOS, you can target Android, iOS, and macOS platforms using Visual Studio Code with the .NET MAUI extension.

Development machine requirements

Operating systems

  • Windows 11 version 23H2 (build 22631) or higher
  • Windows Server 2025 Standard and Datacenter
  • Windows Server 2022 Standard and Datacenter

Processor architectures

  • x64
  • ARM64

Graphics

On Windows, ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET uses DirectX to provide high-performance rendering of maps and scenes.

To support high-performance analysis

  • Direct3D 12 with feature level 11.1 (or feature level 11.0 with Resource Binding Tier 2).
  • Shader models 5.1 and above.

UI framework requirements

Development environments

  • Visual Studio 2026 18.0 or higher with the .NET MAUI workload.
  • Visual Studio 2022 17.14 or higher (minimum version with support for .NET 9) with the .NET MAUI workload.
  • Visual Studio Code with the .NET Multi-platform App UI (MAUI) extension and the .NET MAUI workload.

.NET SDKs and frameworks

  • .NET 9 or higher is required for developing .NET MAUI applications.

Emulators/simulators

  • Android: Android Emulator
  • iOS: iOS Simulator

Graphics

ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET uses OpenGL ES technology on Android to render 2D map views and 3D scene views. Rendering in a map view uses OpenGL ES 3.0 or above if available on the device. Otherwise, it uses OpenGL ES 2.0 or above. Rendering in SceneView or LocalSceneView requires OpenGL ES 3.2. High-performance analysis APIs require Vulkan 1.1.

For more information about the configuration of your cross-platform app, see topic Project configuration for .NET MAUI apps in the Microsoft documentation.

Deployment requirements

Operating systems

  • Maximum supported: Android 16 (API level 36)
  • Minimum supported: Android 9 (API level 28)
  • High-performance analysis requires a minimum of Android 12 (API level 31)

Processor architectures

  • armeabi-v7a - For targeting Android-supported devices with CPUs based on the 32-bit ARMv7 architecture.
  • arm64-v8a - For targeting Android-supported devices with CPUs based on the 64-bit ARMv8 architecture.
  • x86 - For targeting Android-supported devices with CPUs that support the x86 (or IA-32) instruction set (typically emulators).
  • x86-64 - For targeting Android-supported devices with CPUs that support the Intel64 architecture.
