Offline content (maps, scenes, and data) can be prepared for use in fully disconnected environments or when an internet connection is temporarily unavailable. Services can be configured for offline use and can then be used in an occasionally connected environment, either directly to generate offline data, or as layers in a web map using ahead-of-time
The steps required to prepare offline content depend on the type of offline workflow you are using and the specific content you need to make available offline.
Areas of a web map:
- Offline enable a web map to ensure the map and its data are available for offline use.
- Define map areas to be packaged up in advance, ready for users to download and take offline.
Entire maps or scenes:
- Create map or scene packages with ArcGIS Pro to deliver a single, compressed file that bundles a map or scene, and all the geographic data referenced by its layers, for offline use.
Individual layers:
- Create data files from ArcGIS services if you want to make specific data available for offline use (from a feature service or tile cache, for example).
