Create an offline app with user-defined areas

In this tutorial, you will build a partially offline app with a user-defined offline map area. A user-defined map area is created dynamically within the app and can be downloaded for offline use. This workflow is also known as the on-demand workflow. This tutorial also allows you to add additional data as a feature layerA feature layer (client-side) is a data layer that can access and display features from a feature service that has the same type of geometry and attribute fields.Learn more to your map.

What you'll learn

• Create a feature service in ArcGIS portal.
• Create a web map with the Map Viewer.
• Enable the web map and feature layer for offline use.
• Create an API key credential to access the web map.
• Use an access token to access the web map and feature layer.
• Define an area of the map to take offline within the app using the ArcGIS Maps SDKs for Native Apps.

Before you begin, you need the following:

An ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise account
An IDE depending on your chosen ArcGIS Maps SDKs for Native Apps
