The Link Explorer widget allows you to view Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud) project documents that are linked to features in a web map or web scene. You can use the Link Explorer widget to select documents and display them in the Document Viewer widget.

Examples

Use this widget to support app design requirements such as the following:

  • You want to interactively explore connections between building information model (BIM) data and GIS data.

  • You want to view linked Forma documents for features in a web map or web scene.

Usage notes

This widget requires connection to a Map widget. The Map widget must contain a web map or web scene with features created from the ArcGIS Pro BIM cloud connection or feature layers with links specified in an ArcGIS GeoBIM project. It can also be connected to a Document Viewer widget.

To view and select the linked documents with the Link Explorer widget, you must sign in to your Autodesk Forma account.

The following are the two ways to use the Link Explorer widget:

  • Connect the widget to a Map widget. The Link Explorer widget displays links for selected map features.

  • Connect the widget to a Document Viewer widget. The Document Viewer widget displays content from links selected with the Link Explorer widget.

Connect an Autodesk Platform Services application

To use the Link Explorer widget in ArcGIS Enterprise, you must connect your enterprise portal to an Autodesk Platform Services (APS) application.

  • If you have an APS application you are using for ArcGIS GeoBIM, add the following URL to the callback URL list:

Use dark colors for code blocksCopy
    1
    https://webadaptorhost.domain.com/webadaptorname/apps/geobim/aps-auth/
  • If you do not have an APS application, create an APS application for ArcGIS GeoBIM, and add the above URL to the callback URL list. After you create the application, you must authorize it for your Autodesk Forma account.

If you host an experience on a custom web server, you must complete the following additional steps to connect an Autodesk Platform Services (APS) application.

  1. Prepare an APS application.

  2. Configure a callback URL.

    • In your APS application, add a callback URL using your server information. The following is an example callback URL that shows the required format:

Use dark colors for code blocksCopy
      1
      https://domain.com/cdn/buildNumber/widgets/shared-code/lib/geobim/assets/aps-auth/index.html
    • In the above URL, replace <domain.com> with your web server domain and replace <buildNumber> with the number located in the cdn folder of your downloaded Experience Builder app.

  3. Authorize the APS app.

    • Authorize the APS application for the Autodesk hub with custom integration.
