Combobox select all

Combobox includes a selectAllEnabled property to display a "Select all" checkbox when the component has a selectionMode of "multiple" or "ancestors". When toggled, the "Select all" checkbox will select or unselect it's child Combobox Items. When some, but not all Combobox Items are selected, the "Select all" checkbox will display in a mixed state.

Input Time Picker masking

Input Time Picker now offers masking so users can adjust the component's value via keyboard.

The component's functionality has been enhanced to better accommodate keyboard users. The component will now open when interacting with the component's chevron via mouse.

Enhance component interactive states

Calcite continues its initiative to audit and update interactive states across the design system, focusing on providing consistent, accessible, and expected feedback for user interactions such as hover, press, and focus. These updates ensure that each component provides clear visual cues for all interactive states, improving usability and accessibility for all users.

This release brings enhanced interactive states to the following components:

Resizing usability improvements

Shell Panel now offers improved usability via its resizable property, making it easier to discover and resize Panels. Additionally, Panels can now be resized when displayMode is "float", providing more flexibility with your layout and user experience.

Corner radius tokens

Calcite has updated its approach to corner radius tokens for improved clarity and flexibility. This change provides a more descriptive and scalable set of tokens for customizing component roundness. Update your styles to use the new tokens for future compatibility.

Block and List Item expanded property

The open property on Block and List Item components has been deprecated in favor of the new expanded property. This change improves clarity and consistency across components.

Split Button href property

Split Button now supports setting an href on the primary button, allowing it to function as a link. This enables navigation to external URLs or routes directly from the primary action.

Dialog prevent autofocus on open

Dialog now includes an option to prevent autofocus when the component opens by setting focusTrapOptions to { initialFocus: false }. This is useful for workflows where a user should maintain current focus or avoid interrupting screen readers.

Action Bar floating property

The new floating property for Action Bar, when used in conjunction with the overflow-actions-disabled property, now provides the same floating appearance and overflow menu behavior as Action Pad.

Text Area introduces new component tokens for customizing corner radius, shadow, and footer background color.

Accessibility and Internationalization

Norwegian alias of nn to no

When specifying the Nynorsk locale ("nn" or "nn-NO"), it will now default to Norwegian string translations ("no") instead of English. This is similar to the existing behavior of other locales where there are no specified string translations, such as Spanish - United States ("es-US").

Localization improvements

Input Number now no longer accepts invalid characters when the lang is set to Chinese Simplified ("zh-CN"), providing more support across locales. Additionally, Input Date Picker displays the correct value for Arabic ("ar") locales.

Switch's enhanced contrast

Switch's contrast has been enhanced, exceeding the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Success Criterion 1.4.1: Use of Color. The accessibility and usability improvements provide more color contrast to more audiences.

Improved warning color contrast

Components using the warning color now offer additional color contrast in both light and dark modes. The warning color displays in components where kind is "warning", and when Rating's average is specified. Components with contrast improvements include:

Enhanced placeholder text color contrast

Placeholder text color contrast has been enhanced exceeding the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Success Criterion 1.4.3: Contrast (Minimum)'s radio of at least 4.5 to 1 for both light and dark modes across the following components:

Compatibility

The 4.33 release of the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript supports Calcite version 3.2.1. In your application, we recommend using the same version or any minor version greater than ^3.2.1.

If you are using version 4.32 it is recommended to use Calcite's 3.0.3, or any minor version greater than ^3.0.3.
