offline map area

An offline map area is a region of a web map that is packaged for use offline. The map author uses the Map Viewer to define these regions (areas) to make it easier and faster for users to download maps for offline use. Offline map areas can be used in ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123, and applications built with ArcGIS Maps SDKs for Native Apps. Feature layers are bundled into mobile geodatabase files (.geodatabase), tile layers into tile packages (.tpk or .tpkx), and vector tile layers into vector tile packages (.vtpk). Package names reflect the names of the layers they contain.
