choropleth map

A choropleth map displays a set of pre-defined geographical areas proportionate to an aggregated summary of a specific, statistical variable for each area, such the area's population density or per capita income. A bivariate choropleth map, also called a relationship style, is a thematic map that displays two or more of these variables on a single map by combining different sets of symbols.
