A hosted tiled imagery layer is a hosted layer (item) in a portal that is used to manage the properties and settings of a image service. It is accessible through an item page. A hosted tiled imagery layer (item) is created using ArcGIS portal or ArcGIS Pro to import existing raster data in formats such as GeoTIFF, IMG, DTED, and SID. Client applications can use a hosted tiled imagery layer (item) to optimize displaying static image tiles from an image service. It is also used as input for raster analysis operations.
