hosted image tile layer

A hosted image tile layer is a reference to tile data in an image tile service that is stored in ArcGIS. It is accessible through an item, which is used to manage the layer's properties and capabilities. Hosted image tile layers are used to manage and access image tiles. A hosted image tile layer is typically created by using data management tools to create (publish) them from existing hosted feature layers. Client applications can access image tile data through a hosted image tile layer and display the data in maps and scenes.
