Analysis is a systematic examination of a problem that provides new information. ArcGIS offers a suite of products that support different types of analyses, including geometry analysis, feature analysis, raster analysis, and 3d visual analysis.
You can perform analysis operations using the ArcGIS Map Viewer, ArcGIS Maps SDKs, and the spatial analysis service. You can also combine analysis operations to build models. Combining operations into a series of steps for modeling or for the automation of repetitive workflows (for example, batch processing) is known as geoprocessing.
