Scope is the permission level of a privilege. The scope of a privilege indicates the level of access to your ArcGIS account that an access token with that privilege will have.
There are two scopes:
- Standard scope: A category of privileges requiring no special access to your ArcGIS account. These privileges can be used in any application.
- Personal scope: A category of privileges that require special access to your ArcGIS account. These privileges can only be used in personal applications and automation scripts.
Developer credentials can contain privileges with standard and personal scopes. If any privileges with a personal scope are selected, the item is labeled as "Developer credentials - Personal" in your portal and usage is restricted. Otherwise, the credentials are labeled as "Developer credentials - Standard".
