offline map area

An offline map area, also known as a preplanned map area, is an area in a used to create an offline map. It is defined by the owner of the web map in the and then packaged into an . The offline map can be downloaded and used in ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123, and built with . The map areas may also include feature layers, tile layers, and vector tile layers. Feature layers in the map are bundled into mobile geodatabase files (.geodatabase), tile layers into tile packages (.tpk or .tpkx), and vector tile layers into vector tile packages (.vtpk).
