An enhanced endpoint is a URL for an ArcGIS location service hosted in a cloud infrastructure in the United States. The URLs provide access to services that support additional levels of security certification such as the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The services support all of the operations for the basemap layer service, geocoding service, routing service, GeoEnrichment service, portal service, spatial analysis service, geometry service, hydrology service, elevation service, and all data services. Some of the service endpoints also support job requests for long transactions. Enhanced endpoints are high performance and most commonly used to build applications that require full access to ArcGIS location service functionality or that require a higher-level of regulatory compliance. To use an enhanced endpoint, an ArcGIS Location Platform account or ArcGIS Online account and an access token are required.
