application credentials

Application credentials are a set of credentials consisting of a client_id and client_secret that can be used by an application to obtain a short-lived access token, which grants access privileges defined by the application. They adhere to the OAuth 2.0 protocol for client credentials.

A full set of application credentials is required for app credential authentication, and a client_id is required for user authentication.
